Sweet Moments

The other night I was feeding Ellie and Aaron was putting the boys to bed. The rooms are close and I overhead story time... We read the boys the picture version of the Book of Mormon every night. You know the one that has about 6 little box pictures with writing underneath. Well, the boys were reading the last chapter about Moroni's promise. When they were done reading Aaron told the boys that they could pray and know if the Book of Mormon is true. Isaac waned to pray he said, "Heavenly Father help us to know if the Book of Mormon is true." Simple to the point. (Aaron helped a little, Isaac does not like much help though.) When they were done praying Aaron said how do you feel. Isaac excitedly said, "I FEEL GOOD! Daddy, IT"S TRUE!!" Isaac was so excited and sincere about the whole experience. Listening to this sweet moment brought tears to my eyes! What a testimony builder for me! Isaac kept shouting "IT"S TRUE!" When I came in the room after feeding Ellie he was sure to tell me. It made me realize how important it is to read the scriptures as a family. Half the time I don't think they are listening but they really are!

Arizona Fun!

While Aaron was in training the kids and I went to Arizona! We had a blast. We went to the train museum, Schnepf farms, carved pumpkins, trick or treated, airplane museum (grandpa took the boys), went swimming, and went to the Phoenix zoo!! Wow never a dull moment! Here are some pictures of our adventures!

Well...it is true we are now living in Utah. Never thought this would happen. I knew we would move away from good ol' Rexburg but I never thought we would end up in Utah. Aaron interviewed for the job they told him they would call him back in 2 weeks however they called him back the next day and wanted him to start Sep. 26!! We put our house up for rent and we found renters in less than 24 hours. We packed up our house and came down here! Except Aaron had training for 4 weeks so the kids and I went to Arizona. Leaving Rexburg was a sad sad day. I miss our awesome house, our amazing friends, ward, neighborhood, the safe small town feel, the wonderful summers, the boys saying 775 Park Street in there cute voices! As we drive away from our house I cried and cried wondering what we had gotten ourselves into but, also excited for the adventure ahead. It has been an adventure but a good one. Thanks to all my wonderful friends who came to help us on moving day! We have been very blessed to make such good friends that we miss greatly! Here are some pictures of our house. It was very hard to leave this house!

I have been so busy this week I have not had a chance to write about what we did last weekend. We decided to take the boys out fishing. First we went to Ashton Reservoir but right when we got there a whole bunch of college students came tubing down the river and decided to get out right where we were fishing. So that ruined our fishing at that spot. We packed up our things and went up the Mesa Falls road to bear gulch. It is one of my favorite spots around here. It is so beautiful. It's a good little hike, we were very glad we brought the stroller. Usually Ellie likes the baby bjorn but she decided not to like it that day. I ended up holding her the whole time. She was really good as long as she was swaddled and in my arms. Aaron pushed the boys and carried our picnic lunch and fishing gear. We made it to a spot where we could hike down to the water and had a little lunch. Then we fished. Isaac caught the first fish! We ended up catching a bunch and having kind of a good time. I think the boys had fun but Aaron and I were nervous about the boys being around the water. Of coarse they are boys and like to do adventures things making mommy very nervous! On our way home we had some yummy Popsicles and called it a day. After eating our fish for dinner we all headed for bed. We tired out the boys and Ellie but I think they tired out Mom and Dad the most! When we tucked the boys into bed we asked them if they had fun. Isaac said, "Yes, but next time can we go to a place with not so many mosquitoes!"

Family, Family, Family

Saturday night as I leaned over to kiss my husband goodnight I sighed "Man I am all "coleman'd" out!" He laughed then kissed me and we went to bed. You see our family had been visiting and almost everyone was staying at our house from about June 30th to July 9th. If they were not staying at our house they were here late visiting every night. Our house was packed but we loved and enjoyed every minute. This past week for us has been great, super busy and filled with family. We blessed sweet little Ellie Sunday July 3. It was perfect because all the family was able to come for the blessing and spend the forth with us as well. Almost all of Aaron's family was here staying at our house! From my side only my parents were able to come. The Saturday before the forth, so the 2nd, we went up to Driggs, Idaho to Huntsman Springs Resort. They were having a special Celebrate America Event! It was great. Free to the public with activities such as an air show, bmx show, bounce castles for kids, comedians, good food, face painting, pig races, and a show with dogs doing cool tricks. Then in the evening they had a band/orchestra from BYUI play patriotic songs, followed by a guest speaker Glen Beck! Then the most amazing fireworks show I have ever seen! It was too music and video and brought tears to most people's eyes! I am proud to be an American. We had a fun filled packed day. Isaac and Sam were so good all day and loved being with there grandparents and cousins. However, when the fireworks started neither of them could stay awake. Poor Isaac had been talking about and waiting for the fireworks all day! Then Sunday we blessed Ellie. She was so beautiful in her dress! The blessing was amazing! What a special little girl she is! Then Monday was the forth and honestly there is no better place to celebrate then Rexburg, Idaho. Rexburg really is the all American community. In the morning we went to the parade and the kids got lots of candy. I love the parade because it is good clean fun, families are out together and there is no drinking or smoking. Then we all came back here and had a barbecue and the kids played in the kid pool. Instead of going to the fireworks in Idaho Falls we stayed here and did our own show. Isaac was excited and loved helping daddy light the fireworks. Later that night he came up to me and told me he needed his bed. So I laid him and Sam down. My boys are not use to staying up so late. We also took our family to the civil defense caves, movies, the girls got pedicures, played wii, farmers market, the zoo, celebrated grandma Coleman's birthday, and stayed up late every night just visiting and having a good time. We had family here for about 10 days but it seemed to go by so fast. And one day in all of this I managed to get the stomach flu. It only lasted 24 hours but still no fun. Luckily Sam only got a touch of it and no one else got it!

Isaac's Garage Sale

Before I write about the 4th of July I wanted to write about Isaac's garage sale. On Saturday the 25th of June we decided to help Isaac have a garage sale. He really wanted the Woody action figure (Isaac will correct you if you call Woody a "doll") from Toy Story. So we told him that if he sold some of his old toys he could earn the money to buy Woody. It was hard for him to pick toys to sell but finally he had a good chunk of toys he could sell. Aaron and I also put some things in the pile for Isaac to sell. Believe it or not Isaac was able to earn enough money to buy Woody. After we talked about tithing we went to the store and Isaac bought Woody. He was sure proud of his purchase! He showed everyone and told everyone that he bought him with his own money!

Father's Day

Father's Day weekend Lone Pine had a free fish day for kids. Aaron decided to take the boys. They all had a great time but I was surprised how fast they made it home. They were only gone for a total of an hour and a half and they came home with 4 fish! Isaac and Sam caught them! We were able to eat the fish for dinner which was fun for the boys. On Father's Day Isaac sang with the other Primary kids in sacrament meeting. It was his first time! I thought I was going to cry. Then that same day he gave his first talk in sharing time! He did a really good job and was not scared at all. I can't believe how he is growing up. We had a nice father's day. We are so grateful for Aaron and the wonderful dad and husband he is! We love you babe!

Little Ellie is growing like crazy! She has started smiling which is so much fun. Yesterday she rolled over for the first time. She is 6 weeks! I was freaking out. I laid her down for tummy time and she kept trying to roll up on one side. I thought maybe I laid her down a little on her side so I situated her so she was on her tummy. Well, after I did that she kept trying to roll up on her side and before I know it she is completely on her back. I was really surprised! I kept telling her how amazing she was! Aaron was not home so I started to text him to tell him what had happened. I then thought maybe it was just a fluke so I laid her on her tummy again to see what she would do and she did it again!!

So far the summer has been fun. The boys love playing outside with all their friends! Isaac has been pretending he is Buzz Lightyear and his bike is his rocket!

On opening day of Henry's Lake, ( May 28th) Aaron and a friend of his left at 4am to go catch some fish. Despite the bad weather, about 8 inches of snow and high winds, sounds like they had a pretty awesome day of fishing. Fishing regulations only allow a person to keep 2 fish. These are the ones Aaron brought home. They were yummy. I have been so spoiled being married to a fisherman, we often are able to enjoy fresh fish. Now I can't imagine having to buy it in the store. The great thing about eating fish the same day they are caught is they do not have a fishy taste!

Last weekend I threw a baby shower for my sister in law so Aaron took the boys out for the day. They had a great time. They went fishing and each of them caught fish! They made a fire and roasted hot dogs, then marshmallows and made s'mores (with Reese's peanut butter cups). Isaac also caught a garter snake. When Aaron told me that I couldn't believe it. He was not scared of it at all. Isaac dropped it before Aaron had a chance to take a picture because the snake pooped in Isaac's hand... Aaron also told me that Sam hooked the first fish and Isaac netted it for him. Then Isaac continued to drop the fish right in Sam's lap apparently making Sam freak out! The boys came home tired, smelly, dirty, and very happy! They had a blast and they both loved eating the fish they caught for dinner

Birthday Party

Isaac is four!!! When Ellie was only 2 weeks old Isaac had a birthday! He was very excited about his birthday this year! We decided to have his first "friends" birthday party! It was a blast. We started out at the Firestation! Isaac and all his friends were able to get a tour of the firestation. They got to see all the trucks and even sit in one! Then we came back to our house for pizza and an awesome fire truck cake that Aaron and I made. Days before his birthday Isaac would come into our room every morning and ask if it was his birthday yet. So he was very excited when we finally told him it was.

4 Days Old

A friend of mine, who is a photographer, took these pictures of Ellie when she was only 4 days old. I have never done newborn pics before so it was a lot of fun to watch. I have tons of fun with my boys and I always wanted to have boys first but I am loving having a girl. At first I was not sure how it would be because we are pretty much all boy here. But we are all loving having baby Ellie in our family. It is so much fun to have the color pink in our house and I love the dresses and bows. It's fun to watch the boys be so sweet with her!

Little Miss Ellie Jean Coleman finally decided to make her debut! She arrived early Monday morning May 9th 2011. She arrived at 2:14am! She weighed in at 7lbs 14ozs and was 20 inches long. My due date was May 8th so to not have her before then was hard! Both Isaac and Sam were a week early. My mom, anticipating she would be early, came early to our house! Although I wish she could have stayed longer after she was born it was nice to have a friend to hang out with and help around the house. I was going crazy with anticipation and was just sick of being pregnant. I love to hang out with my mom so it was great to have her here. After doing everything they say will induce labor Ellie still decided to come one day late! I walked to the temple, (in gale force winds, that's what my mom called it!) walked to Isaac's preschool class, waited until night to walk along the curb (Aaron came with me) I rubbed my ankles so much that I gave myself bruises, I walked up and down my stairs... and a number of other things. I guess I learned from this that the baby will come when they are ready and every pregnancy is different.
My sister Michelle decided to come up here also which was super special for me. She came up the Friday before Ellie was born. We all thought Ellie would be early so she came up a few days before my due date. It was great to have Michelle here. The boys loved playing with her!! I was worried Ellie would still not be here while my sister was here. However she came just in time. Ellie came Monday morning and my sister had to leave Monday night. It was fun to be together with my mom, and sister on mother's day. That has not happened in years!
I went to bed May 8th feeling discouraged. It was my due date and still no baby. We went to bed and I was having a few contractions but I didn't think much of it because I had had contractions before then they would stop. Well at 11:45 my water broke! Then we were off to the hospital!!! Clay and Jilla came and watched the boys and my mom and Michelle came to the hospital also. Usually it is just Aaron and I so it was real special to have them there this time. We got to the hospital and my contractions were really close together and intense. I was so glad to get the epidural!! Everything happened so fast before I knew the doctor was there. I pushed and out she came. It was the fastest delivery I have had. We are so grateful to have Ellie here in our family. So far she is a good baby. The boys are getting use to having a new member of the family! It is fun to have a little girl! I love to get her dressed in her cute new clothes and bows!!

I am a little behind...
I want to get caught up before I write about our newest member of the family. After a great Christmas in California we have been keeping busy. This year I turned 26 on the 26th. My golden birthday! To make it more fun Aubrey and Aaron made arrangements to surprise me. Aubrey and Lisa drove up from Utah! I was so excited to see them. We got together with Lindsey, who lives in my neighborhood, and had a great time remembering life when we were 13! The four of us went out for Tai Food while Aaron watched the kids. He is a great husband. It was so much fun to be together. Our lives have changed much since we were 13. We have all graduated from college, got married, and now we all have kids. Crazy... It was a great birthday!

Shortly after my birthday Isaac, Sam and I flew to Arizona. It was great to get away from the cold! Grandpa took the boys to the park everyday and they were even able to spend some time with their cousins Jack and Chase. While we were there my mom and Michelle threw both Sandra and I a joint baby shower. We are both having girls! I am due in May and she is due in June! The baby shower was a great success. It was fun to see friends and family that I had not seen in a while.

After getting home from AZ we celebrated Sam's 2nd Birthday! He is growing so fast! He is always so full of energy. He also talks very well for his age. People always think he is older then he is because he talks so well. He keeps life fun for us all! He loves to make people laugh.

The cool thing about it was it was the same kind of plane that my Grandpa Nixon flew in Vietnam. Aaron and Isaac were also able to attend a monster truck show. Isaac loved it. It's all he talked about for days.

Batman and a Bear?

Isaac and Sam did not coordinate this year at all for Halloween. Isaac really wanted to be Batman and Sam looked so dang cute in the bear costume I had to do it! They each loved their costumes. Isaac wore his almost everyday before Halloween! We had to talk him into changing into real clothes when we went out. I would tell him that we did not want to get his costume dirty before Halloween. The boys had a fun this year. Especially Isaac! We took them to our ward party and then trick or treating. It was hard for Sam to say "trick or treat," so to make things easier the would just say "Treat Pease." He knew what was important or I guess he knew what he wanted. We took the boys down a few streets in our neighborhood and they were wore out but we had fun. By the way... Isaac still asks to put on his Batman suit.

August Cali Trip

This August we took a trip to California! We stared at the northern coast were we camped in the redwoods with Aaron's family. I was very nervous with how the boys would do but they did awesome! They loved everything about camping! They were even excited to go to bed because they got to sleep in the tent! Isaac asked to go to bed the first night because he was so anxious to sleep in his cool bed in the tent. We were a snug little family all in one tent. We also played at the beach almost everyday when we were there. Isaac especially loved the redwoods and everyday we would go on dragon hunts! Camping together was really fun and we were glad Grandma and Grandpa Coleman were there as well as Trinity, Clay, Jilla and Taylor. After hanging out at the coast we went back to Aaron's parents house and had fun playing with the dogs and eating yummy fresh fruit right off the trees. We spent a day fishing at lake Almanor. For Trinity's birthday we all spent the day in six flags (about a 2 hour drive south of Aaron's parent's house.) Six flags was a blast with the boys. It is also a Marine world with whales and dolphins so we took the boys to a few shows! Wow they loved it. The first show was with a killer whale and we got there early enough to get seats in the splash zone! I had no idea how much they splashed! It was also my first time seeing a show like that before. Six flags also had a Thomas the Tank engine world!! Major plus! We rode on a train pulled by Thomas! Isaac and Sam were in Heaven. We also took them to a Loony Tune world. Isaac was tall enough to ride on every ride so he did! Aaron and I were the only one's in the group that wanted to ride the BIG roller coasters so when the park only had 1 hour left to remain open we got the boys some dinner and Aaron and I took turns ridding the rides. You see, there were no lines at this time so Aaron would run get on the ride, enjoy his ride, then run back down and I would run and do the same. We actually did quite a few rides this way. The boys didn't mind either. They were pretty tired after our big day. They sat in the stroller and at there food and relaxed. There were plenty of fun things to look at while Aaron and I went back and forth. We had a busy day but the boys were so good! We enjoyed seeing Aaron's family and being able to spend time with them. We spent some time with Aaron's grandparent's as well as my Grandma Nixon and her husband Richard.

This week has been fun! We have taken the boys fishing two evenings! Isaac and Sam each have there own fishing pole's. (Aaron wanted to get Isaac a fishing pole for his first birthday and Sam also.) However they are not kid fishing pole's. Isaac is bigger now so he can manage his okay but Sam was having a hard time and he is our little destroyer so we thought it best to not let him hold a pole. But this didn't work because if Isaac was holding one Sam had to have one as well. So I suggested to Aaron we buy Sam one of those kid "Lightning McQueen," fishing pole's. Aaron was not thrilled because they are not good rod's and there are so many things wrong with them... He said before he never wanted our kids to have those pole's. (Inside I am almost laughing...) You have to understand that my husband is an avid fly fisherman! That's what he does and honestly he is very good at it. He wanted our kids to start out right. (they will fly fish when they are older) Well, I finally talked him into it and we went to the store. We got one for Sam and of course Isaac thought it was the coolest thing ever so we ended up getting two! It seemed painful for Aaron to be purchasing those pole's, but we all survived. When we got home Isaac and Sam were both excited. Aaron decided they are not so bad because it is actually helping Isaac learn to cast and Sam has something small that he can manage and we don't have to worry so much about him breaking it. More Fun

At the end of July Isaac, Sam and I went down to Arizona to see Grandma and Grandpa. We had lots of fun. We wished Dad could have come but he had too much work to do. We missed him very much though. On our way down to Arizona we stopped in Stansbury Park to see Aubrey's parents and Aubrey. Best of all we finally got to meet baby Aaron! I was so happy to finally be able to hold him! It had not worked out for me to go down to Utah and I had been dying to see and hold baby Aaron. What a cute baby. It made me so happy to see Aubrey as a mom. What a great mother she is! I was glad to be able to see her. After visiting with Aubrey ,baby Aaron, and Sara we drove to the airport to catch our flight. My dad flew to SLC and helped me with the boys. That was awesome. His job really has a lot of perks.

After we arrived in Arizona the very next day my mom and I flew to California to go to my cousin's baby shower. My sister flew in from Vegas and we all rented a car and drove to the baby shower. We had a really fun time! It was great to see family. I had not see my cousin's from this of the family in years. Also the food at the shower was amazing. There are some professional chef's in the family which makes eating with them very fun.

After the CA trip the boys and I had a great time in Arizona. We went swimming twice a day and had lots of fun with grandma and grandpa. It was great to see my parents and spend some time with them. My mom and I had lots of fun together. I was also able to see my dear friend Stacy! One of my best friends from high school and college roommate. It was fun to see her and her two children. I also got to see one of my cousin's families, as well as David, Sandra, Jack, and Chase! Isaac loves Jack and Chase and had so much fun playing with them. We flew back to Utah on a Sunday drove down to Aubrey and Jon's baby blessing in Provo then stayed the night at Aubrey's parents house and got to spend some more time with Aubrey and baby Aaron. Then the next day we went back to Idaho! So happy to be home with our Dad and amazing husband!

Summer

We are all doing better here at the Coleman home. It's nice to have everyone feeling good again. We loved having Grandma here. She was a great help. I have not posted many of our summer activities so I thought I would put some pictures on. We have been busy enjoying the nice weather here! Almost everyday I put the boys in our cool new bike trailer and we have a picnic at the park. They love it. If we don't make it to the park we play outside and ride bikes. Isaac got a tricycle for his birthday and asks to ride every day. He also is into Dragon's right now so we go outside to try and find some. The boys have been doing swimming lessons and we have been to the splash park a few times. We also enjoy going to the library and getting books. Today we went to the Demolition Derby. Isaac just loved it. I did not bring the camera to capture his face but I wished I had. He was all smiles. When we got home he told me his name was "Crash Car." Sam of course had a good time too. He still is always making us laugh here. Here are some pictures of a few other things we have done.

This was Isaac and Sam's first time experiencing a really big firework show. They both loved it. It's so fun to be there when your kids experience new things. I love watching their faces and seeing their excitement.

Sam was not sure of the fireworks at first and sat in this exact position for quite some time. When he finally warmed up to the fireworks he pointed up to the sky and said over and over "wustat?" (what's that)

The fireworks in IF are actually pretty amazing. Watching them as an adult they put a huge smile on my face. I feel like a little kid again!

What a wonderful morning! I woke up to go and get Sam this morning and guess who is already in his room??? My MOM!! What a suprise! I had to rub my eyes and pinch myself to make sure I was not dreaming. (I dream alot and my dreams are very vivid and seem very real) No, I was not dreaming. She is really here, and here is the story that brought her here...

Yesterday I woke up very sick. I could hardly stand up. Both boys had a bit of the stomach flu at the begginging of the week and I guess it was my turn to get it. However, both boys did not have it very bad. I don't know what happened to me but I got it bad. Aaron is a great husband and helped me as much as he could but he still had work. He came home often to check on us but I just really wanted my mom. I don't know but there's just something about needing your mom when you are sick. I called my mom but she was in California visiting her mom. She was just packing up her things to get ready to fly back home. I told her I was sick and wished that she could come. I knew that it was not realistic but I can wish. Well, I guess later that day she called Aaron and talked to him about suprising me. Instead of going home she jumped on a plane to Salt Lake City then took the bus from Salt Lake to Rexburg. (my mom can fly free because my dad is an airline pilot) I had no idea. I did think that it would be awesome if my mom could come but I didn't think it would happen. Yesterday at dinner Aaron said that he would get me a babysitter. I didn't think it would be my mom. Aaron said he was going to sleep on the couch because I was so sick. He made him a bed on the couch and I didn't think anything of it. I found out the next morning that he didn't even sleep in it. It was really for my mom. She got to town at about 1:00 am. I didn't here a thing. Then this morning I woke up and there was my amazing mom! I am so grateful that she came to help out today. I am feeling a little better today which is nice. I feel so grateful and lucky to have such a wonderful mom. I feel a little bad because she left my dad and brother and his wife to come and see us but I am so so happy. Isaac and Sam are also loving having Grandma here. Sam has pointed to everything in our house and asked grandma, "wustat?" And Isaac has told her all about his dragons and dinosaurs. We are excited to spend the weekend with mom!

Potty Training

This past week it has been raining non stop here in Idaho so with nothing else to do we decided to try potty training again. We started a little while ago but things did not go well. Isaac fought it and I got frustrated. The best thing to do for both of us was take a break. Then with so many events this year it was hard to find a time to potty train. Finally we had nothing going on and bad weather. (when the weather is nice it is hard to keep that boy inside) I read so many books on potty training I didn't know what to do. Finally one day I was out talking to my neighbor and she said to try setting the timer for every 15 to 20 minutes and then go sit on the potty. So the next day that's what we did. We were ready with underwear but had to bribe him to put them on but he did. Then we set the timer. It was good for both of us to be reminded. He was really good about going and not fighting me about it. I think it was because each time he sat on the potty he got to open a small present or have an M&M. He loved to set the timer after each time so that was nice. And yes, we had LOTS of accidents that day. That night I ran to the store before bed time to buy pull ups. So many people told me not to buy pull ups but I was terrified. I came home with them and Isaac said, "No mommy these are Sam's. Diapers are for baby's." I was not expecting that at all. So we sent him to bed with no diaper. I had a pretty good feeling there would be an accident. Sure enough there was. It was okay though. We changed his pants and sheets and went back to setting the timer. Isaac did awesome. We had one accident in the morning then after that he made it in the potty every time. By the end of the second day he started telling me he had to go. That night of course no diaper or pull up and I was nervous. However, the next morning he came and told me he had to go potty! We didn't make it in time but I was impressed. Then by the third day I set the timer just to remind myself to ask him if he needed to go. He was telling me when he needed to go!!! It was pretty funny, he started getting annoyed with me for asking if he needed to go so many times. And he has not wet the bed since that one time!! Aaron was an awesome help. Basically we did not leave the house for 3 days. So if I ever needed to run an errand he would take right over for me. (he is working from home now) The first time he went potty in the potty (this time) I was not there.
Our biggest issue was #2. He was afraid to go. Yesterday was his first day going and we had a big celebration. After dancing around the house we all went out for ice cream! He is a potty champ! This time both he and I were ready. I have learned that the key to potty training is patience! I read some where that you can never get upset when they don't make it. I said lots of prayers for patience or that I would be able to handle the different situations that came with potty training and I know I was blessed. I know that he still will have accidents but I am pretty dang proud of him. He loves his underwear. It's like potty training gave him a new sense of Independence. Yeah for Isaac!!

I can't believe Isaac is now 3! We celebrated his birthday with Aaron this year. There birthday's are two days apart. We had fun and had a few friends/family over. Isaac was really excited for his birthday! Any time we would ask him about his birthday his first response was, "presents!" He got some fun new toys. His favorite is a new Tricycle from Grandma and Grandpa Nixon. He also got some toy dinosaurs, doctor medical kit, trains (James and Percy), some cool "Cars" items (a new Lightning McQueen, The Sheriff a puzzle book,& coloring book), Aaron found him his own tackle box (he loves to go fishing with Daddy) and the game memory. I had fun making his birthday cake. He love trains so I tried to make a train cake. It was fun and he loved it! I also make Aaron a homemade German Sweet Chocolate Cake. We had fun celebrating together! The day of Isaac's birthday he kept saying,"It's my Happy Birthday!"

All of my family met at the Ranch last week! We had a great time. Everyone was there! My parents had lots of fun activities for the kids including a scavenger hunt, puppet show, finger paints, many trips to the hot springs, boat rides, smores... My parents love being grandparents...

5 Years!

Aaron and I celebrated our 5 year anniversary May 14! I am so grateful for him and the temple marriage that we have! I love him more everyday. He is such a good husband and father. He really takes good care of us! We have had an exciting 5 years! I love our little family. Our boys bring us so much happiness. I am so grateful that we all can be together forever. I will never forget the day we were sealed and the feelings I had. I have never felt so right and so happy about anything! I love you babe!

My wonderful parents came up to watch the boys so Aaron and I could get away for a night! It was only one night but we enjoyed every second. Don't get me wrong we love our boys but it was the first time we had been away together since our boys came along! We went up to Island Park and stayed in a lodge! It was very nice and relaxing!

Last week we were down in Utah again. We went this time for my brother Dan. Not only did he graduate with his MBA but he also commissioned in the Army. He is now a second Lieutenant in the US Army. Aaron and I were glad we could be there with him for that. It was neat because my dad did the swearing in part and my mom and I pinned on his rank. Isaac and Sam had fun with Grandma, Grandpa, and Jack and Chase! So glad we could go down. We also took the boys to the dinosaur musuem at the Point of the Mountain. Isaac loved it. (he is really into dinosaurs right now)

We had a great Easter! Saturday we colored Easter eggs and watched conference. Then Sunday we were able to watch more conference! What a great way to celebrate Easter. I loved hearing from our wonderful Prophet. The talks were all so good! I really enjoyed conference and had great weekend as a family. It was just the four of us which was nice.

The day after Sam's birthday is my dad's so we celebrated by going skiing at Grand Targhee. We had a great time. We forgot the camera so we do not have pictures but we still had a great day skiing. Then we all went down to Utah to see family and friends. My good friend Aubrey had her baby shower. We also saw Sandra and Jack and Chase! Isaac and Sam loved playing with there cousins.

I can't believe a whole year has gone by! I still remember Sam as a little tiny baby. What a year though. I am happy to report that Sam is finally successfully sleeping through the night. I just have to say that I forgot what it feels like to get a complete night sleep. I am loving life. I don't feel so tired all the time. Sam is the happiest little guy ever. He makes all of us here laugh and smile. It's funny, it's like he really enjoys making people laugh. You would never know or believe that he was such a fussy baby for the first few months. He's my little dare devil and nothing stops him from doing anything....or he would like to think. He gets so upset at me when I don't let him climb down the stairs head first or try to slide off the couch etc... He loves his big brother and wants to do everything he does. He says Momee, Daddee (he really emphasizes the ee at the end), milk, chese, Jesus, that, Hi! (everyone's favorite), wow, and weee...(when he swings or drives his cars around.) He has got a fun personality! We had a fun birthday party for him. We were so glad that Grandma and Grandpa Nixon were able to come and celebrate with us. The day after Sam's b-day is Grandpa's birthday so we had lots of celebrating going on. Then for the weekend we went down to Utah to see family and friends. I will post about that soon. Sam loves all his new clothes and toys. Isaac likes to think they are his toys and now he is super excited about his own birthday.

Aaron's Fishing Trip

I am a little behind on my blog but I wanted to post some pictures of Aaron's fishing trip a few weeks back. He went with a friend who is even more hard core about fishing than Aaron. I know... hard for some of you to believe. Well, the day of this particular fishing trip Aaron woke up at 2:00am and left our house at 2:30am. I was sound asleep but, I did make him a breakfast and lunch the night before. (He had a 3-4 hour drive to the fishing spot.) Then I did not see him until 10:00 that night. However when he arrived home he still had to clean the fish. What a day! He caught some big fish though! They are steelhead. He caught them on a fly and I was proud of him.

If you look closely you can see how cold it is. The line is starting to freeze in the eye's of the rod.

Sunny Day

Yesterday we woke up to beautiful blue skies and sunshine! The snow outside was melting and all the snow on our deck was gone! We were excited. Isaac asked to go outside to play on our deck in the back. I put his shoes on and let him go out. I then went to grab his coat because the weather said that it was 35 degrees. I took him his coat but he said, "No Mommy I need sunglasses!" It just made me laugh. So I brought him his sunglasses and his coat. He took the sunglasses and still said no to the coat. It was very bright outside so I don't blame him for wanting the sunglasses but I thought it was pretty funny that he didn't want his coat. I guess we were all pretty excited to have such a nice sunny day. When Sam woke up from his nap it was even warmer so we all went outside to play. There is still snow on the ground just not on the deck. Isaac wanted to play in the snow so I tried giving him his coat again. However he did not want it. He went down off the deck and found rocks to throw in the snow then he came up to me and said, "Mommy I need gloves." I said to him "how about a coat and some gloves." He said, "No mommy! Just gloves." What a funny kid. The boys loved being outside. I had a hard time getting them back inside.
I was so excited about the sunny weather I wore my flip flops all day. As many of you know they are my favorite shoes. My feet hate to feel trapped in shoes but so often here in Rexburg they are. I guess I really am an Arizona girl at heart. (Don't get me wrong I love it here.)
Then of all things we woke up this morning and it was snowing!! Haha! Well, I guess I have lived here long enough to know that snow came at any time of the year! At least we took advantage of the warm weather yesterday!

All Weekend Long...

Well I am officailly a quarter of a century old!! Yikes... that sounds worse than it really is! But yep I am now 25!!! I had a great birthday!! It felt like it lasted all weekend which made it even more fun. Friday was my actual birthday. Aaron made me a yummy breakfast and I had a chance to take it easy. That night we went out to dinner! Isaac was pretty excited about my birthday. He loved going out to eat, he ate a ton, he especailly loved getting dessert. Sam had good time also. When we got home I opened some presents. Thanks to everyone who sent cards, presents, gift cards, etc...I felt really loved! Isaac is starting to understand the birthday idea so Aaron took him to the dollar store so he could pick out a gift for me. Aaron told me Isaac was so excited to find something for me. First he found two Disney princess things but then Aaron said when he saw what he got me he knew it was it. He dropped the princess items and couldn't wait to give me his present. Aaron helped him wrap it with a gift bag and some tissue paper. He put the tissue paper in first then the present on top. He ran out of the room holding the present, pulled the present out of the bag, and while handing it me said, "Happy Birthday Mommy!" The present that he had to get me and was so excited about was a box of Raisinets!! It's amazing how a two year old and a box of Raisinets can make you feel so special and so loved! Aaron suprised me with a red purse. The story behind the purse is I saw it in Arizona after Christmas and was in love with it. It didn't fit into the budget so I didn't get it. However Aaron went back to the store later that night and got it for me and saved it for my birthday. What a sweet husband! I love him. Then Saturday we went to a Colbie Caillat concert!!! I love her and I found out she was coming to Pocatello the day after my birthday. Perfect timing!! Some of our awesome friends babysat for us! We had an awesome time! She is great live! Then Sunday we had some friends/family over for cake and ice cream and played games! I had a great birthday. Thanks again to everyone who helped make me feel so special and loved. Well these pictures are mostly for my Dad's entertainment! When talking to him on the phone after ground hog day I made the mistake of saying that we were having 6 more months of winter instead of 6 more weeks. He thought it was hilarious and in between laughs he said, "Well in your case it probably is 6 more months!!" We have big snow piles in our front yard. Its mostly from shoveling the driveway so much. Which my awesome husband has to do so often. We are enjoying our winter and really we have actually received less snow this year than previous years and it has been a warmer winter. However I know there are some of you who would beg to differ!

We were lucky this year to have Aubrey and Jon come up and see us! We had a blast with them and were so glad that they came to see us! Isaac and Samuel loved having them here too. On Saturday Jon and Aaron went ice fishing and Aubrey and I stayed home and made a special dinner for our husbands. It was fun and yummy! Then Sunday we invited Clay and Jilla over for dessert and played games. I loved seeing Aubrey pregnant. It made me so happy. She is so beautiful and so happy. I am so excited for her. She and Jon will be great parents.

We had a great Christmas! First Aaron's parents came out to see us in Rexburg. Aaron's brother graduated from BYU-Idaho so we had a little Christmas with Clay, Jilla, Taylor, and Grandma and Grandpa Coleman. We all had a nice visit with them. Aaron and Samuel loved playing with Grandma and Grandpa! It was a first Christmas for Taylor and Samuel. We had fun with them. Sam loves to Crawl under the table, but then he gets frustrated when he gets stuck or tries to sit up under a chair

We took the boys to see Santa this year! It was actually the first year that Isaac has seen Santa. It was the first year that Isaac really understood Santa. We told him while we were in line that if he sat on Santa's lap he would get a candy cane! So he was all excited! He sat on his lap and was excited to get his treat. Sam didn't really know what was going on. He sat on his lap then looked back at me with a face that said, "is this ok mom?" Isaac loved his candy cane! I have never seen a kid eat a candy cane so fast. This Christmas season has been really fun. It's Sam's first and Isaac is really getting into the holdiay season this year. Right now Aaron's parents are visiting. Isaac is having lots of fun playing with his grandparents. We are headed down to the warm country to see my family this coming week. We are excited.

We had an awesome Halloween! We decided to go out to California because we never were able to go this last summer. Before we left we carved some pumpkins in our new house! Isaac thought it was great to stick his hands in the goop. Our trip to California was great and we were so glad we went. It was fun to be with Aaron's family. Isaac loved playing with his cousin Trinity. Even though she is 7 and he is 2 they played great together. Isaac did not want to go anywhere without Trinity. We were able to spend some time with Aaron's grandparents as well as my grandma. We were even lucky enough to see my dad. He happened to be visiting his mom (my grandma) the same time we were there. We only got to see him for a little while because he was leaving the day we got there. However Isaac was happy to see his Papa-zona. (that's what he calls my dad) Isaac loved Halloween. Him and Sam were dinosaurs. Isaac loved trick-or-treating with his cousins and growling "like a dinosaur!" Isaac got really good at saying trick or treat and would sign the word please as he was saying it. Sam just went with the flow and didn't fuss at all when I put him in his dinosaur costume. Both boys were really good on this trip. We took great-grandpa coleman fishing one day and almost the whole time Isaac sat on his lap and just talked and talked to Grandpa. Sam also was sitting in his car seat talking away! (Sam is so talkative it's so funny to hear his little baby talk. Sam is also getting his 5th tooth!)

OH yeah! While on the fishing trip Isaac got a little over excited lost his balance and fell head first into the lake! It was deep where we were too. Aaron quickly grabbed him but he was soaked! Luckily I had an emergency outfit in the car. I have learned that with kids you always need to bring an extra outfit if you are far from home!

Isaac had fun with lots of things but the part he loved most about this trip was great-Grandpa Coleman's tractor. Isaac's favorite thing to do was sit on it and pretend he was driving! We could not get him off of that thing. We couldn't bribe him with anything. He was perfectly happy sitting on the tractor.

Zoo

Isaac was terrified of this tiger at first. He thought it was real and would not go near it.

We took the boys to the zoo for the first time. We were not sure how the Idaho Falls zoo would be, however we really liked it. It is very small but landscaped very fun. You feel like you are in a jungle. There are only a handful of animals but Isaac loved it. His favorite were the Lions. There was a male and female. He could have stayed and watched them for hours. Isaac also had fun feeding the goats his crackers. He loved the monkey's, birds, alligators...etc he loved it all. What a fun age to take him to the zoo. Sam had fun too. He chilled in the stroller but was good the whole time!

Fishing

Aaron and Isaac had the opportunity to go fishing together the other day. They both had a blast. Sam and I stayed home. (Sam's not up to fishing yet) Aaron helped Issac catch all kinds of fish. They also caught frogs and grasshoppers. Isaac had fun throwing rocks and fish. Wait... fish? Well, he didn't mean to throw the fish he was just trying to put them back in the water. Isaac also got to see a deer that ran into the road. Aaron told me that on the way to the fishing spot the sun was behind some clouds. He said there were some rays coming down through the clouds. Aaron told Isaac not to look at the sun because it could hurt his eyes. Isaac said, (while pointing to the sun/clouds) "No Daddy Jesus, Jesus!"
After they got home Isaac was so talkative and kept saying "brown trout" in his cute little voice. That's what they caught. I think the poor fish were traumatized after Isaac was through with them but Aaron said all the fish swam away. One even had to be revived. When Aaron told me that my first thought was fish CPR? No, it's not like that. You just move them back and forth in the water until they can swim again. Apparently Isaac knocked one of the fish out. That's the one that Aaron revived.

Aaron and Isaac went to the lake a few weeks ago. Isaac had so much fun. It was just him and Daddy. He loved that he got to wear a Lighting McQueen life vest. He really enjoyed his time on the boat and wants to do it again.

Our Weekend

We had such a fun fourth of July! Kids make holidays so much fun. In the morning we took the kids to the parade here in town. Isaac loved it! He thought the big trucks, tractors, and cars were so cool. He also loved the fact that he was able to get tons of candy. Isaac also tired cotton candy for the first time. He didn't want to stop eating it! Later we went to a BBQ then that night we shot off fireworks in our backyard with Clay and Jilla. Isaac was so funny watching the fireworks. He thought they were amazing. He is still talking about fireworks and asks me if we are going to go outside to do more. It's so fun to see your children experience things for the first time. Isaac was so genuinely excited about things it made me excited. Kids are great!

Another crazy thing that happened... Friday night Sam would not stop crying! We did not know what was wrong. We thought maybe his gas was bothering him. He has been a colicky baby but we thought he was getting over it. Both Aaron and I took turns with him during the night. Well the next morning Aaron was playing with Sam while I was getting Isaac ready. Aaron was making Sam smile really big. All of a sudden Aaron called me into the room he said "You have to see this." He told me to look at the bottom of his mouth. And what do you think I saw? Yep 2 teeth just poking through the gums! I could not believe it! He is only three months. Poor kid was in pain all night and all I gave him was gas medicine! I was freaking out because I thought he was too young for teeth. Well that was a major surprise for us all!

Summer

Summer has been fun so far! When Aaron went to Scout camp I went down to Utah to see Aubrey and Jon, Sandra and the Boys, and Dan. I even got to see Lisa Ashton which was a bonus! I had so much fun seeing everyone. Aubery and Jon have the cutest little house and Isaac loved playing with Aubrey. Who he calls Bobbry. I got to spend a lot of time with Aubrey's extended family. It was fun to meet and get to know them. I had fun seeing Dan. He cooked me a fabulous dinner and lunch. I never knew he was quite the chef. Isaac had a blast playing with his cousins Jack and Chase and I had fun hanging out and talking with Sandra.
When I got back from Utah the next day our little family all went to the air show here in town. It was fun Isaac, loved the planes. Sam was a little scared by the loud noises. I was so happy to be home and be back with my wonderful husband again. He said it rained the whole time he was at Scout Camp!
Then the next weekend we took the boys on a little hike up Cress Creek. Isaac was so proud of himself because he did not have to be carried. I will post some pictures as soon as I can. Sam just woke up!

Arizona

So I am a little behind on my blog. Life gets crazy when you have a new born. Well at the end of May we celebrated Isaac's second birthday! I can't believe that he is two! We had a little birthday party and he got some cool presents. Then the next day we flew to Arizona! The kids did great. Isaac loved having his own seat and it was Sam's first time on an airplane! We were so excited to spend some time with family. Everybody was there. Michelle, David, Sandra, Jack, Chase, and Dan. As well as my parents of course! We had a great time. The day after we arrived we celebrated Aaron's birthday. We took him to a movie and got free popcorn, then we went to Krispy Kream and got a free dozen doughnuts! During our visit we swam, went tubing down the river, took the kids to this really fun bounce place. Grandma had fun activities planned everyday for Isaac, Jack, and Chase. She is such a good Grandma. Grandpa played tons with the boys als0. We also blessed Sam while we were down there. It was a blast until... Isaac got sick. I think he had the stomach flu! Not fun while on vacation. Then I got sick! I have never been so sick in my life. I also had the stomach flu. It was bad. I could not keep anything down for days and lost too much weight. I was joking with Aaron that it's a good way to lose the baby weight. I had no strength because I could not keep anything down and I was breast feeding. (Sam will not take a bottle) When we got back to Rexburg I had to go to the hospital to get an IV ran through me. Once I got that I started doing much better. It was an interesting vacation to say the least. But it was still nice to be home with family. My husband and my parents took good care of Isaac and I. I don't know what I would have done without them.

Grandma and Isaac making Sugar Cookies

Life has been crazy but good with our new little addition! Sam is now 2 1/2 weeks old! Even though sleep has been much less we are still making it. I am so grateful my mom was able to come out. She helped us so much. I don't know what I would have done without her. She helped around the house, with the baby, and with Isaac. Not only did Grandma and Isaac make forts but they also played in the snow and made sugar cookies. Isaac was sad to see her go. (I think we all were) Wow what a great Mom and Grandma! Sam so far has been a pretty good baby. We are all still getting use to having him around (especially Isaac) but we love him and are so glad that he is here. Isaac has slowly warmed up to Sam. When he thinks we are not watching he will go up to Sam and touch him or show him some toys. However, as soon as we say something he acts like he wasn't doing anything. Other times he does not want Sam around. But every morning he asks about the baby. Aaron has been the best dad and husband ever! He helps me so much! He takes Isaac out and they play and do fun things. The other day they went fishing at the Nature Park here in Rexburg and caught giant gold fish! Life has been crazy but I couldn't do this without my wonderful husband! He is a great dad! Isaac and him really have so much fun together! I am so lucky to have such a wonderful family who I love so much!

Our Family of 4!!

Grandma and Isaac are having fun building forts

Samuel Quinn Coleman has arrived!! March 24th at 10:24pm!! Exactly one week before the due date. I started having contractions that afternoon then around 8:00 pm we went to the hospital. Everything went well! I only pushed for eight minutes!! Sam was 8 lbs 2 ozs, 20 inches long, and his head was 14 inches! He is a beautiful baby and we are so glad that he has come into our lives!

This is me at 38 weeks. My biggest problem now are my shirts. The baby sticks straight out that they don't come low enough any more!

I am due in 9 days!! I will be 39 weeks in 2 days! The baby has dropped and I am so ready! Any day now would be great! I am getting big and uncomfortable. We are just waiting patiently for little Sam to come. Isaac knows something is up. He pats my belly and says "baby." We'll see how he does we the baby is actually here. We are all getting anxious and excited around here! We will keep you updated on how things are going!

My cousin and his wife were married in St. George on Valentine's Day!! Aaron, Isaac, and I drove down from Rexburg. It was sure nice to get out of the snow and enjoy some sunshine. Isaac loved being able to run around without all his snow gear on. It was also fun to be with and see all the family! We had a really good time.

Some one took the time to carve this bear out of snow! I thought it was so cool! Isaac had so much fun sledding. He loves to be outside. We can never get him to come in! He calls his sled his boat and loves to go down the hills or be pulled around! Since I am so pregnant it is hard for me to pull him around or go sledding so Aaron and him have the most fun. We are enjoying all of our snow here in Rexburg. (for the most part)

Christmas Fun

I am a little behind on the blog. The last couple of months have been crazy. We moved into a little house. It had a lot of problems so Aaron and I had to do a lot of fixing! It took a while but now we are all moved in. We love the space we have and are grateful to be out of our basement apartment.

We had a great Christmas in California! Isaac had fun with his aunts, uncles, grandparents, great grandparents, and cousins! He loved playing with all the dogs at Grandma's house My pregnancy is going well. I am entering my last little bit. Here are some pictures of our Christmas in CA!!

Mexico Again!!!

Isaac and I were so lucky this year! We got to go to the beach in Mexico twice!! We were sad that daddy and uncle Dan couldn't go though. We missed them tons. But we got to see Grandma and Grandpa Nixon, Uncle David, Aunt Sandra, Jack, Chase, and Aunt Michelle. Isaac had fun playing on the beach and in the swimming pools! We were outside as often as we could be soaking in as much sunlight as possible before we came back up to Idaho! We played hard! I swam in the ocean everyday! The waves were so gentle. We even got to rent some ATV's! Thanks to Grandma Nixon we had lots of good yummy food! It's impossible to go hungry when she is around. The weather was perfect; every night we would sit out on the balcony and talk or play games. I think everybody had a good time.

Family Hike

We did a lot of fun things this summer. Here are some pictures of our hike. We hiked for a while then found a place to have a picnic and fish. Daddy and Isaac even found a snake. Isaac loves being outside and playing in the dirt! He loves finding rocks, sticks and anything else. He is all boy!

Grandma and Chuck

Grandma and Grandpa Ennes came to visit us at the end of August. For Chucks Birthday Grandma suprised him with a guided fishing trip up here in Idaho. We have some of the world's best fly fishing you know! Aaron went with him and they both had a great time and caught lots of fish. It was fun to have them here. They enjoyed seeing there great Grandson Isaac.

Camping

Right After Stacie's wedding the we all went camping! We camp in the Redwoods at Cresent City. It was Isaac's first camping trip and he did really well! I think he really enjoyed it! He had fun playing in the dirt and with sticks. He was not afraid of anything! Cresent City is right on the coast so we got to play in the sand and water. Isaac and Dad loved finding crabs and starfish to show Mom. Isaac would hold the crabs and try to grab the starfish. What a brave little guy.

Stacie's Wedding

The very next weekend after Aubrey's wedding Aaron's little sister Stacie was married! We had a long 14 hour drive to Corning! Let me tell you it was long...but we made it. Stacie was married in the Sacramento Temple to Devon MacLellan! It was a happy day! We were so glad we could be there! Isaac's cousins were sure cute!! Aaron was the best man and instead of wearing a tux he got a new suit! He got it the night before just in time! And he looks good!! He did have to wear a bright pink tie but he did it for his sister!

Alabama!!

Isaac is only a year old and has already been all over the place! Aubrey Graff and Jon McLaughlin were married this July in the Birmingham, Al temple. It was fun to be able to go out there and celebrate with them. I was a bridesmaid and Isaac had a cute little suit. We were sad because Aaron was not able to attend but both of my parents came. They had fun with Isaac. The Graff family treated us great! They put us up in a fabulous house and fed us great meals!! The wedding was beautiful but the bride was even more beautiful! Jon and Aubrey are so happy and so in love. They made everyone around them happy! Isaac had fun getting lots of attention from handfuls of people! He even did pretty well in the Alabama heat! The trip to Alabama was long! We left the day before the flight and drove to Salt Lake. We stayed with my good friend Lisa and her husband. It was fun to see Lisa, I had not seen her in years!! We talked forever. The next morning Isaac and I had to be at the airport at 5am!! Lisa was kind enough to drive us that early. Our first flight took us to Phoenix. Isaac did well on that flight seeing how it is only and hour and a half (or less) In Phoenix we met up with my parents. They got on the flight and we all flew in to Birmingham. Isaac did good for the first while but had a hard time towards the end. He just could not seem to get comfortable! But we finally made it to Birmingham just in time for rush hour traffic. We had a hour and a half drive to the cute little town of Wetupmka (that's were Aubrey and Jon's families live) We finally made it! The next day was getting ready for the wedding day! We had to do the essentials like getting our nails done. Aubrey, her sister in law Shanna and I went and got pedicures and manicures. The people there were nice and asked me if I was 15 years old. I told them I was 23 and had a baby boy. That night we had a BBQ and a pool party. The next day was the big day! Aubrey and I got up at the crack of dawn so she could get her hair done. Then Jon, Aubrey, her mom, Jon's best man Daniel, and myself drove to Birmingham for pictures at the temple before the sealing. Then there was the sealing which was wonderful! After that was a yummy luncheon. Then we had time to relax but just for a while. Shanna did my hair and did an awesome job. The reception was fun and beautiful! It was a dream wedding! Then the bride and groom were off for there honeymoon!

The next day was the flight home! Isaac did better but still struggled! We flew to Phoenix I said goodbye to my mom then my dad flew with me to Salt Lake. He then drove Isaac and I home that night! We did not get home until 1 am. That was so nice of him. We hung out with him the next day for a while then he flew out of Idaho Falls and eventually made it back to Phoenix. Wow! What a trip but we had a blast!!

Aaron, Isaac, and I had a great time in Mexico with Grandma and Grandpa Nixon! Isaac loved everything about the beach! It was so cute to watch him play in the water. We all had a fun time! We celebrated Isaac's birthday and he had a good time with his chocolate pudding pie!! Dad, Aaron, and I went fishing and caught over 300 fish! I'm not kidding! We just caught fish after fish.
